Plant Soil

The Hawita-Fruhstorfer roof garden and troger soil is a high-quality special substrate, which provides a green roof and is also used as a plant substrate for filling large-volume planters / troughs for perennials, conifers and deciduous trees. The soil ist also suitable as lawn support layer. Due to the high proportion of expanded clay and lava, Hawita Fruhstorfer roof garden and trough soil prevents compaction of the soil. In addition, the mineral components for an optimal drainage effect and aeration of the roots. The volcanic clay act as a perfect nutrient and water reservoir.
Fruhstorfer soil for rhododendrons and other ericaceous plants is specially matched to the requirements of ericaceous plants. It contains a low pH value and is fertilised in a specific manner. The special composition of various peats and bark topsoils is very similar to the conditions of a natural habitat. The soil can be used both for pots and trays as well as on open ground.
The Fruhstorfer rose soil is highly suitable for cultivating and maintaining roses thanks to its high proportion of clay and topsoil and thus creates the ideal conditions for rapid growth and corresponding root penetration. This soil is perfectly suited to planting and maintaining roses in boxes and trays, as soil is used on its own as well as for laying flowerbeds.
The Hawita-Fruhstorfer aquatic plant soil is a ready-to-use growing medium for use in in-house garden ponds and other water areas in the open air. The nutrient content and pH value are specially tailored to the requirements of aquatic plants. This provides the plants with a sufficient supply of nutrients and at the same time prevents high nutrient input into the water. The quartz sand ensures a high level of stability for the plants and prevents the earth from floating up.
